I Am me Day with ABRAR UL HAQ in Canberra (89 images)

Mr.Khawar Saleem and his team of Pakistan Cultural Association (PCA) have proven once again organised a community cultural event with a bang.

The biggest ever cultural show was attended by a large crowd from Pakistani community in Canberra who were left spell-bounded by an unforgettable performance from the Bhangra king

Such fervour and passion amongst a Canberra audience had not been seen before as this was the first ever visit of Abrar Ul Haq to Canberra.
The “I am me day with Abrar Ul Haq” was an enormous success. The chief guest, Her Excellency Commissioner of Pakistan, Ms Fauzia Nasreen, commended the organizers' efforts in his opening remarks.

Representatives and high commissioners from many other countries were also present at this occasion which included Embassy of United states of America to Australia, Indian High Commission, Sri Lankan High commission , UAE embassy, Mexican, Italian, Slovakian, Norway and many other European countries were also represented.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Deputy High Commissioner Mr. Tasawar Khan, Defence Advisor Brig. Zahoor Ahmad, Australian Defence Advisor for Pakistan Group Captain Peter Vigers, Outgoing defence Advisor Brig. Babar Virk and Deputy Secretary Of Human Services of Australia were also present.

A number of guests travelled from Perth, Wagga Wagga, Bega, Bates man bay and other country areas.

A number of local singers were also present, I am me debate was also organised by the Youth.

The audience enthusiastically danced to every tune of Abrar ul Haq and later had the opportunity to have photographs taken with the star.

We thank you for your support and feed back we have received via emails and phone calls as this is the only motivation that keeps us going and delivering such a good events..

Letter from High Commissioner of Pakistan:

In the appreciation of great work of Pakistan Cultural Association in organising the Abrar Ul Haq event of Canberra, Her Excellency High Commissioner of Pakistan to Australia, Ms. Fauzia Nasreen sent a letter to the President Mr. Khawar Saleem and commended the efforts of Pakistan Cultural Association (www.urdu.org.au) in bringing the colours of Pakistani culture to Australia. She also acknowledged that Canberra show raised $6450 for Pakistani flood relief victims.
